Re: Steering Assist

On my Cross there is a button on the steering wheel to switch it off. I do this as I start off as I do find it it irritating and possibly dangerous. I was passing a cyclist the other day and the car tried to nudge me back into the cyclist. Yes I could have indicated but apart from the cyclist there ...

Re: Where is your Yaris Cross manufactured

My Cross was one of the early UK ones and it may be that the chassis was built in Japan and 'finished off' in France as part of the working up of the French plant. All I can say is I am not terribly concerned about where it was built only that it carries on working perfectly, which so far (25,000 mi...

Re: Where is your Yaris Cross manufactured

My eleventh letter is A. I said it was manufactured in France because I was following it on the Toyota app including its journey to the UK.
If my plant code is A to which plant does that refer please?

Re: Toyota MyT app (Not MyT by Toyota)

I hardly look at it. I occasionally use it to see what my current mileage is (25k) but that is about all.

Re: Servicing

Very interesting. As you say, maybe a dealer to avoid.
My Yaris Cross has had two services now at Howards, Weston-super-mare. No problems and no attempts to sell me anything extra. Happy to continue with them.

Re: Automatic door locking

It is possible that it was an EC regulation that no longer applies to cars sold in the UK. It would be interesting to know if Yaris Cross cars sold in the EC have auto-locking.

Re: Automatic door locking

I believe that you would have to press the lock button each time if you want your doors locked.
I don't know what happens in the event of an accident. My previous car had automatic door locking which was connected to the airbags. The doors automatically unlocked if the airbags were deployed.

Re: Radio

If you turn on he engine and leave it in 'ready' you can listen to the radio. The petrol engine may kick in when the battery is deemed to be low. I don't know of any other method except for taking a portable radio with you!

Re: On the verge of ordering

I've done over 11,000 miles in my Yaris Cross but my journeys are usually about 20 miles on A-roads. I usually get mid-70s as far as mpg is concerned. Yesterday I did a 90 mile trip and got an indicated 82mpg. The return journey, when I was putting my foot down was only 73mpg. I don't do a lot of lo...
