Autocar Review:
All in all, then, the Yaris Cross doesn’t win for practicality and driving dynamics against some rivals but bold looks, strong efficiency, a good-quality interior and moderately fun drive make it a welcome addition, giving buyers even more choice in this thriving yet largely humdrum segment.

Auto Express Review:
The new Toyota Yaris Cross effectively packages what we’ve come to like about the latest Yaris Hybrid into a compact SUV body with no needless surprises or alterations. It’s exceptionally efficient, if not the most startling performer. The hybrid drivetrain takes little getting used to and is easy to extract fantastic efficiency from. It could be a great company car option too, thanks to CO2 emissions from as low as 102g/km for Design trim.

What Car Review:
The Yaris Cross makes a strong case for itself against the crowd of small SUVs, especially if you value low running costs and Toyota’s impressive reliability record. That said, the Ford Puma still looks like the better overall option, offering a more dynamic driving experience and much more luggage space.

I enjoyed reviewing the Yaris cross although I agree with What Car that the Ford Puma may be a better choice for many! The economy is unrivalled though and a major plus point of the Yaris cross!

I test drove a Ford Puma. I'm not enormous - 5' 11" - but I felt like a sardine in a tin. View in the rear mirror looked like peering out of a letter box.
Yaris Cross isn't a big car but felt roomier so I ordered one
